NOHKALIKAI FALLS
Description.
Nohkalikai Falls, plunging from a height of approximately 1,115 feet, is one of the tallest waterfalls in India and a highlight of Meghalaya’s scenic attractions. Located near Cherrapunjee, it is surrounded by cliffs and dense mist, which often adds an ethereal charm. The turquoise pool at the base of the falls is a sight to behold, especially during the monsoon season when the cascade is at its fullest. The falls derive their name from a tragic local legend of a woman named Likai, adding an element of mystique to its natural grandeur. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views from the viewpoint or trek closer to feel the roar of the falls.
